ATLANTA – “The Art of Beer”, an exhibition featuring the creative, rebellious and provocative works of craft beer artists, is coming to the Scofflaw Brewing Company.

The one-day show on Saturday, May 19 will be another ground-breaking event hosted by the brewery on Atlanta’s Westside known for its IPAs and independent attitude.

“This event is going to be insane,” said Matt Shirah, Chief of Scofflaw, “definitely something we intend to build on year after year.” The gallery-style exhibit will include works from the show’s curator Josh Jameson, Lotus Eaters Club, Cole Dixon, Nick “Turbo” Benson, Dozfy, Squishiepuss, Mark Silvestro, R. Land, Liz Webb, Chris Wright, Will Ralston and other area artists.

Live painting by Lotus Eaters Club and music by the Craigger White Band will be part of the day’s events and a commemorative propaganda T-shirt will be on sale.

Jameson, the in-house artist at Scofflaw, recently illustrated an all-new lineup of cans for Scofflaw beer and food coursefeaturing an array of colorful goat characters. “There are a lot of good artists in Atlanta and many of them are working in the beer world,” he said. “I wanted to see a lot of that talent in one show.”

Jameson encouraged contributors to “The Art of Beer” to go beyond the limits imposed by the regulations in the beer industry and instead respond to their own creativity. “Like many expanding cultures in the U.S., it seems that there isn’t one place in the craft beer market not affected in one way or another by regulatory bureaucracies,” said Jameson.

Admission is free to “The Art of Beer” during regular Saturday tasting room hours of noon to 9 p.m. Families with children are welcome and dogs are welcome in the outdoor beer garden. DAS BBQ will be the featured food truck.

Please note: Scofflaw recently revised its tasting room hours in response to requests by travelers who are visiting or those who frequent the Atlanta area during the week. The brewery tasting room is now open daily at noon for packaged beer to go and on-site beverage and merchandise sales.
