Wallace, ID – The Silver Valley’s premier craft brewer, Wallace Brewing Company is proud to announce its recent honors at the North American Brewers Association’s Mountain Brewers Beer Festival in Idaho Falls, ID. In a field of 132 breweries submitting beers, Wallace Brewing emerged with 2 medals, both being first time winners for each brew.

Brewmaster, Jack Johnson was on hand to proudly accept the medals and celebrate in the winner’s circle with fellow craft breweries. Below is a profile on both winning beers, cheers!

1910 Black Lager

Medal: Gold

Category: Schwarzbier (black beer)

ABV: 4.9% | IBU: 22

Description: 1910 is amazingly light and smooth, sporting hints of coffee and a touch of dark chocolate in flavor. We accomplish this by cold steeping the dark malts for 24 hours prior to brewing and using Idaho-grown pilsner malt as a base.

Wallace Strong

Medal: Bronze

Category: English-Style Old Ale

ABV: 9% | IBU: 50

Description: This beer has an attractive red/copper color that leads into a smooth, caramel malty experience with hints of toasted marshmallow, toast, prune and woody flavors. Despite its high alcohol it has a relatively light body.
