Announcing South Florida’s First Ever Beer Festival Celebrating Women in The Brewing Industry

Share Post

Fort Lauderdale, March 8, 2017 – Fem Collective presents FemAle Brew Fest – South Florida’s first EVER beer festival celebrating women in the brewing industry on Memorial Day Weekend (May 28, 2017) in Fat Village Art District. The FemAle Brew Fest will host a large selection of Female run Breweries plus various vendors, music and a selection of artisanal food pairings from local female run establishments.

The FemAle Brew Fest is unique because of its focus. Aside from beer, the event will be celebrating the female experts and brewsters in the popular craft beer movement — making this the first and only festival of its kind in the US. Why is it the first? According to a Stanford University study out of 1,700 active breweries surveyed, only 4% had a female head brewer or brewmaster so beer festivals typically have very little female run breweries present.

This event, unlike any other, features only craft beer from breweries with a female head brewer, brewmaster or owned and operated. The event will be held at a warehouse in the popular Flagler Arts District and feature female dj’s. bands and vendors.

VIP Tickets will be offered at a pre-sale price of $35 (ends 4/20), as regular admission rates are $40 and $50 at the door. VIP tickets will allow entrance to the event an hour prior to general public, commemorative glass, access to Brewster Talk, Seat at Food/Beer Pairing, unlimited sampling (limited to 100 people). General Admission tickets will be offered at a pre-sale price of $25 (ends 4/20), with regular admission rates being $30 and $35 at the door with unlimited sampling and Designated Driver tickets will be offered at $10 and will allow entrance to the event, free water and a food voucher (no alcohol).

“Although many may picture the average craft brewer as bearded and dressed in flannel, the event will showcase the original brewers … women! The demographic that counts for a whopping 32% of American craft beer consumption. Some of the best, hand selected female run breweries in the country will be in attendance showcasing both their regular and seasonal products. I am a beer drinker and female entrepreneur that is always on the lookout for avenues to promote and showcase women,“ says Frances Antonio-Martineau, Festival organizer and CEO of Fem Collective.”

Promoting Female Brewers shattering craft beer’s glass ceiling – To aid in fostering knowledge for representatives within the female Craft Beer industry, many brewsters and head brewmasters will be leading an industry tasting and talk for VIP ticket holders.
