Metropolitan Brewing to Host 10 Year Anniversary Party
On Saturday, January 19th, Metropolitan Brewing will celebrate its 10th anniversary by hosting a celebration of great beer and even better friendships. Ticket price includes beer, food, music, and interactive art installations. The party will take place in the breath-taking event space connected to the tap room and brewery located at Rockwell on the River, 3057 N. Rockwell St.
Metropolitan Brewing was founded ten years ago by Doug Hurst and Tracy Hurst and is one of Chicago’s oldest independent breweries. Opening the first new brewery in 10 years, they took a risk that their accessible German beer styles would be exactly what the Chicago beer community needed. Sticking to their plan by brewing classic lagers, Metropolitan Brewing has won accolades and fans from experienced beer connoisseurs to those who are new to the craft beer scene. At the 10th anniversary party, their commitment to their style and brand will be pouring in the form of a new beer brewed specifically for release at the event. 10th Gear, a California Common, will first-and-maybe-only be available at the event. It is brewed with subtle caramel flavor gives way to herbal, fruity hop flavor and spicy hop aromas. The combo of Mittelfrüh and Liberty hops in this brew reminds them of how they have stayed true to German tradition every day since January 2009.
In addition to 10th gear and their year-round beers Krankshaft, Magnetron, Flywheel and Dynamo, they will also feature a barrel-aged Generator Doppelbock infused with cherries, a firkin of dry-hopped Flywheel, coffee-infused beer poured on nitro, and many more limited-edition varieties.
The evening will also include food by Das Radler, music by DJ Oliver Fade and Mystery Actions, Robot Fights, interactive art installations, a FUNdraiser for Chicago Brewseum, a commemorative glass, and 10-year anniversary merchandise for sale.
