Small and independent U.S. brewers and the organizations that support them will take center stage at the James Beard House on National Beer Day in April.

On April 7, 2017, the James Beard House in Manhattan will hold a “Calling All Beer Lovers Dinner,” featuring Maui Brewing Founder Garrett Marrero and Victory Brewing Company Co-founder and Brewmaster Bill Covaleski.

CraftBeer.com’s Chef Adam Dulye has been tapped to cook for the dinner.

“This is a true honor and nod to small and independent craft brewers, and what they are doing to shape beer culture and culinary arts,” Dulye said. Chef Dulye, who serves as the Executive Chef of the Brewers Association (the publishers of CraftBeer.com), offers CraftBeer.com readers insight into the world of beer and food pairing. He’s also the co-creator of the CraftBeer.com Beer & Food Course.

The mission of the James Beard Foundation (JBF) is to celebrate, nurture and preserve America’s culinary heritage and future. Craft brewers undoubtedly play an important role in that picture, and Dogfish Head Founder Sam Calagione and Allagash Brewing Co. Founder Rob Tod are both nominated for the 2017 James Beard Foundation Award for Outstanding Wine, Spirts, or Beer Professional. Executive Chef Jorge Guzman from the Brewer’s Table at Minnesota’s Surly Brewing Co. is up for the foundation’s Best Chef: Midwest award. The winners will be named May 1.
